HI, It can take several months before feathers grow back sometimes sooner if the bird is going through a molt. Do you mean its wing were clipped they can take a little longer to grow back IP: Logged |

Yeah, I meant the wing. But Im not sure if they are going thru a molt or not they both pick out some of thier feathers but barely any. I just wanted to know how long until she can finally fly. I feel so sorry for her she tries to fly but goes about five feet then drops. And to make it worst the other bird that I have doesnt have cliped wings so he flys all around the room while shes left grounded. She looks so pathetic. IP: Logged |

Hi, it can take months for the flight feathers to grow back, if the birds are going throught a molt then they should grown back quite quickly a warm room helps the process of there molt go alot faster. You can also get a tonic from an avian vet to help with the molt as once they lose the feathers the tonic helps quickly replace them as a molting bird is not a pretty site. I have 10 budgies and they all seem to molt at the same time but theres last no longer than 2months then they have a whole new set of feathers. Even tho your bird has been clipped the more she is aloud out of her cage the stronger her wings will become without her flight feathers and she will be able to fly longer and higher than she has been. mike IP: Logged |
