Hi,
i am new to all this so any help will be appreciated.

I bought a handfed budgie a year ago and 3 weeks ago she layed 2 eggs and now again 2 eggs (one poped).
can she have chicks from that or she needs the male and mating box....???

i have no clue what do i need to do ?

pls give me some input..

Hi All female birds lay eggs without even mating with a male but these eggs are infertile so no chicks from them.

Since there is no mlae and your not breeding the bird it would be better to try and stop her from laying.

Reducing the amount of light she has a day by 4hours.
Re-aranging her toys in the cage every other day.
moving the cage to a different part of the room or house all these should help stop her from laying.

She is using calcium everytime she lays eggs so with her being a single bird its better if she does not lay eggs.

The eggs she has should be left with her for 19 days then remove them this is there incubation period if you remove the eggs while she is still laying then for every egg you remove she will just lay another to replace the one taken..
