Hi, You can buy cockatiel toys from any good pet store.

Ferrets should not be allowed in the same room as birds as the risk of the bird gettting an infection if the ferret gets into its food is high so i would keep them away from each other also if you handle the ferret please clean your hands thoroughly before handling the bird to reduce risk of germs passing..

Ferrets are RODENTS, kin to a weasel. They're hunters, to boot. I wouldn't let a ferret within 20 feet of any bird of mine.

Well you see i haven't had any trouble with the ferret and my parakeet because the parakeet seems to like to be in his cage more then outside of it...and the ferret is the least of my problems as long as she's in her cage which in a tottaly other room...and on top of that i'm not worried even if my cat is in the room just as long as the bird doesn't try to fly out of the cage while the cat is in the room.
The only time my cat tired to get the parakeet was when he flew out of the cage needless to say the cat saw him but i grabed the cat and tossed her out of the room, every so often the cat will jump on to the table i have the bird on and just lay right next to the cage as the sicotic bird tries to bite the cat.

I am a ferret/ cockateil owner too and what these people are saying is a load of crap! Neither ferrets or weasels are rodents for one! and I have never had a problem with my guys together.

I am sickened by this! Stormwatcher if anyone is a rodent it is you! yes ferrets are kin to weasels ( who are not rodents) and otter, est. They are NOT related to the skunk if thats what your gonna say next.
And Dogs are hunters, cats are hunters, any carnavoire is a hunter.

Hi first off there is no need for the way you went on yes they are not rodents but still they should not be allowed anywhere near birds and dont tell me that the first chance a ferret got it would not kill the bird as i know it will my uncle has 12ferrets along with 28cockatiels and one of his ferrets escaped and killed 2 of his birds.

Another thing ferrets no matter how clean there skin and fur is they carry germs just like any other animal if they were to get in the birds food and pee and crap in it and this gets fed to the bird you can bet your life this bird will become ill.

People come on this board for advice not a lecture fair enough if they dont know about ferrets or any other animal atleast they are asking questions and people are giving advice to the best of there knowledge.

I am a dog breeder and have been for years but i can still say i dont know everything about the breed as with any animal something new always comes along.
