Well I took my new kids (tiels) down to have thier nails, beaks, and wings cliped. the only thing he would do is clip thier wings. he said the nails, and beak were fine. Simba has come around finnally, but not fully. he will sit and mimic me but no noise.I can now hold and stroke him and talk to him for only about 5 minutes or less then he is eager to get back in his cage. so now its the Female. Nala. She I swear is the Devils Bird. she is so mean. she fights over the side of the perch that she wants to sleep on. I fixed that I added another perch. but when we pull her out to let her exersise because she tried to fly in the cage, or go to put her in, she litterly bits the Pee out of us and drawls blood. so as punnishment I put the perch on the bottom of the cage.and then she starts sqwaking. like shes being killed. I say NO!Nala!. and she looks at me like I'm Stupid. I was told she was hand fed,But honestly I cant see it, with her behavior. How am I going to get her to stop biting and be nice. she is really mean. I hate to take her back as Simba has grown attached to her as I have.we take the out of the cage at least 2 a day. we leave my dogs out side. this drives him Mad.. but he as well is getting used to the birds. but to no avail he and Molly are back on the Bed.. ugggg. it was great while it lasted. ( so much for using the entire bed for sex..lol) I just want a lil help on tamming her. is she still getting used to us, as it has almost been 3 weeks that we had them. the ride to the vet was about 30 minutes as I drove Simba was looking under the Cover to see what was going on. so I took it off , I really think he enjoyed it. Nala on the other hand cared less, she cleaned herself, fought with Simba cause he got to close. she has a mind of her own I guess. I just need some advise on her bitting. its getting out of hand.So any help will help. Thankyou IP: Logged |

i've had my tiel for about 3 or so years and biting is something that i haven't had a ton of problems with. Since you just got them i would say let them have their space and time to get used to you. When we first got sonic, he wouldn't come out of his cage and would latch on when we tried to get him, but over the next few weeks he warmed up and now we can't get him in his cage. Just read the body language of your bird, they are pretty easy to tell when they gonna bite and when they won't, but some biting is always going to happen. good luck, Mark IP: Logged |
