I just got a Cockateil for my mother inlaw. i have now idea what sex it is, How can on tell. Also my cockateil was hurt from someone holding it to tigh, so it is very nervous when i try to hold it and i am afraid to try to much cause i don't want to hurt it any advise would be welcome IP: Logged |

Hi What clour is your cockatiel in Most case you can tell by the orange patches on there cheeks.Males have very bright orange patches, Females have duller patches. To help him over come his fear every 15-20 mins place your hand in his cage and hold it there to get him used to your hands then you can slowly move your hand to his chest and if the trust is there he will eventually step onto you finger talk gently to him as your doing this and he will soon come to turns that you will not hurt him. mike boro_lad976@hotmail.com IP: Logged |
