our cat snuck in the house on our way to church- we realized after coming home to a frightened bird trapped in its cage that rolled half way down the hall of the house after the bad *** cat knocked it down from the bookshelf that i have the cage sitting on top of.
now the left foot of the bird was injured, however today he is using it without complaint, but my question to you is, he wont sing now. do you think hes still in shock? what should i do?

I am sure if ou cover the bird for a good 24hrs and just let him rest, that he will be ok. It sounds like maybe he is just in shock still....either that or he was chirping frantically and needs time to get his voice back. lol.
If he has no other injury, I wouldn't panic. If you find he is eating and drinking ok, he will be fine. he just needs time to gather himself and feel comfortable again. :-)

I am sorry about your bird. Something like that happened to me, but a little differently. One my sister's budgies got out of his cage, and all of a sudden I heard this little birdy chirp ( wasn't a good one). My dog was chewing him, so held back my dog, and opened his mouth pulled out the bird... Then I was young so I didn't know what to do, so I took a little towel and then I put him on it and grabed my sister. He lived that day but he was injured so he dies about 4 days later.

Your bird should be okay, just let him/her rest. I think your bird will be okay.
