I bought my parakeet a couple of days ago, he seems to be eating (seeds/millit) and drinking much more now. My first question is, how do I get him to eat fruits and veggies? I've tried carrots, apples.... he doesn't seem interested. Are there any tricks or tips to get them on healthy foods?? What kind do they REALLY like? Second question... is it a good idea to leave in or take out the grate in the bottom of the cage? He doesn't seem to like walking on it and also loses his millit spray through the spaces in the grate. I was thinking of just leaving the paper linning. ???? Thanks in advance IP: Logged |

I have 3 paarakeets and they absoulutly LOVE the leafy part that grows on the ends of cellury! I just put it on a little tray at the bottom of the cage. GOOD LUCK! ------------------ [This message has been edited by MDs8erDUDE (edited 02-16-2004).] IP: Logged |

I have 6 parakeets and they all love veggies to nibble on. I normally put their lettuce on a few of their branches and they eat it from there. A few times it falls but they eat it when it does fall. But the next da i take it out because its all dried up. IP: Logged |
