Hey guys and gals. quiki question. my new wbird sits on the perch and flys while sitting there. she falpps her wings really fast. and now my other bird is doing it too.is this some kind of mating dance? thanks-kyle IP: Logged |

hi Kyle, what they are displaying is what they would do out in the wild to help remove dust from there feathers and to help remove loose feathers. Males that are trying to impress a female will usually bob his head up and down and some males will hang on to there perches and swing upside down. mike. IP: Logged |

So when the male bobbs his head what does that mean? Because I have 2 males and 4 females and I have seen one one of the males bobbing his head. IP: Logged |

Hi, When the males bobb there heads this is there way of displaying to the females they will also bobb there heads when regurgitating food for the females. If you pay attention to the females cere (skin at the top part of there beak) it will turn a very dark brown when the females are in breeding mode and the behaviour of the males will intensify he will chase her round the cage he will try jumping on her back to mate with her.
