Hi I'm New Here

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I just brought home a 6 week old maltipo puppy. She is soo playful, I'm just having to work on keeping her from bitting toes and hands. I have two daughers (7 & 4). I noticed she is doing the scooting her bottom on the floor. I wondered if it was do to the anxiety of the traveling and new home? I tend to get worried so easily that something may be wrong. She did just finishes her third worming which was a 3 day treatment too. Anyhow, I thought I'd introduce myself, and look forward to learning much from all of you.

 

Natalie scooted when she had tapeworms as a puppy...since worms were coming out I think it made her itchy. Are there still signs of worms in your dog? How has her stool been? Looser stool could cause some butt scooting too.

 

I wouldn't say Sadie's stools were loose, they are a little wetter than normal, and I don't see any worms. My sister stopped by this evening and tryed to express her anal sac, but didn't feel anything and didn't believe it was that.

My friend just got a shihtzu at 8 weeks and took him to the vet to find out he had tapeworm (but never could see them??) .... so i guess it's still an option....
In the meantime, I have to ask.... how come you got your maltipoo at 6 weeks? I don't mean to offend... just wondering, cuz that's ... ummm.... too young... usually the minimum is 8 weeks...

I thought it was too young also, but she does seem to being doing very well. I guess the breeder was having some family problems and having to move. She is very playful since day one, and is doing so well with the crate, doesn't cry at all during the night, just wimpers when she needs to go out and then is fine when I put her back in. Its during the day starting yesterday - I have a puppy playpen for her and since my daughter has held and played with her so much, she pitched a terrible fit yesterday when we put her in there. I even put music on for her. It reminds me of my girls baby days!!

 

OH they are jusssssssst like children, that's for sure!! heehee
