I don't want to give your hopes up. But in my experiances, if the puppy generally lives longer than a week after showing symptoms of Parvovirus. there is a good chance that they'll make it.

I've had SEVERAL dogs with parvovirus. They were all rescues, and despite all my efforts and the vets, many of them did not make it. However the ones that did. All survived from, early recognition, imediate treament, and care. Most all had the symptoms for about two weeks until they were over the virus. They stayed weak and lathargic for a while. Getting them to eat again was the biggest challenge. Once a dog is sick, they loose any appetite and will generally be withdrawn from wanting any sustinance.

I wish you good luck. Get that baby eating well, give him extra attention, and be sure to bleach bleach bleach!!! Just because something looks clean, does not mean its sterile! Sterile meaning - void of all life. Not clean.

Any clothes you wear to visit him, be sure you do not let your puppy come in contact with them until they are washed. And keep your hands washed well.

Harley is showing signs of parvo again

Harley was doing great then the other night we noticed blood in her stool, nothing yesterday, but again today.....her poop is a little runny acouple times a day other wise it is normal, she is playing and eating and drinking, is this just something they go through, till the virus is gone????
