Ok so i have the 30 gallon sitting empty and i was thinking of moving the communnity tank over to it and converting the 25 gallon into a saltwater tank.
I have absolutly no experience with salt water and i was wondering if there is any articles that you guys would recomend for me to start off.
I know that they say bigger is better but i really dont have much room with the 90 gallon being set up now.
Any personal experiences or articles would be greatly apreiciated.
    Thanks

    Also a couple more questions.
    1) what are some fish that can live in the 25 gallon?
    2) Does live rock get more colourful then it is in the stores? or do you have to add coral and other things to get colour?
    3) Is live rock used as base rock or is that something different?
    Thanks again.

i would like to do a FOWLR tank.
I have been researching smaller Nano reefs and i really like the way they look.
What size protien skimmer would i need and what are some good brands.
How many power heads should i use.
I currently have 2 AC150's filtering the tank and a 150 watt heater.

Nanos are probably the worst way to go in terms of saltwater husbandry, they aren't for first timers or old timers. Things happen way to fast in a nano. I'd buy the conscientious marine aquarist by robert fenner.

depends on the size tank, and what you want to keep.

other fish can go in there, but not two clowns unless they are the same species. You could get firefish, small gobies, and possibly a small wrasse.

I was originally planning to get 3-4 false Ocellaris clowns.
    All of the same species.

Theres noting wrong with nanos fyi just take more work but anyways, tyler i think u should do a reef tank aswell in a 25 it will liven things up u could get zoos, polyps, leathers, feather dusters, the biggest rule in salt it patience it takes about 2 months to cycle a tank
u then need to add cleanup crew ie. 3 astrea snails,3 turbos, 3 blue leged hermies and maybe 2 red legged then u want to look at what u want to add just do alot of reserch and u need to stay on top of water changes and tests if i may suggest look up www.nano-reef.com good luck :y_the_best: and if ur wondering any tank under 30 gallons is considered a nano

sure, suggest corals when he probably doesn't know the first thing about lighting, skimming, ect. So far I haven't seen any indication that you've looked at my articles I gave you. They are very informative and with a good book like "the conscientious marine aquarist" by bob fenner you'll understand a lot more... especially by what I mean by nanos being a pain in the butt.

Btw, nanoreefs.com is just a "who's is smaller" contest and "what can I pack into my tank" contest. A horrible site, I've seen the worst cases of fish neglect on that site than any other. Remember, the ocean is big, not small.

Yes I have read the articles along with many other articles. I also understand the need for a skimmer on all marine aquariums and upgraded lighting. I agree with Nanos being a bad idea all i was saying was i like the way they look. I would never want to overstock any aquarium to that level. the largest tank i can have at this point is a 25 gallon. We have very limited space in our apartment with the 90 gallon, the 30, and the 10 already setup. Also i have the 25 just sitting there so i would like to put it to use.
    Thanks
