Hi, you havent given much to go on but I would say that if your concerned then you should go to a vet, even if everything is okay its better to play it safe.

Theres a lot of reasons dogs pant, it could be anything from being too warm, stressful situations to respiratory infections and pain.

A little more information would be helpfull. How old is the dog ? What kind of backround does it have ? IE just come from his liter, shelter ?
    Is the dog acting distressed?

thanks for the info, he is 4 months old and i was just wondering if it was normal he seems to have stopped it now hopefully it was just the different environment but i am taking him to the vet tomorrow just to be safe.

Thanks, good to hear he is doing better If you only just brought him home it could well have been the stress, car journey if there was one and the new enviroment. Best to be on the safe side though and make sure there are no problems.

I have a 6 month old maltipoo she pants alot but mostly when you are holding her, she has alot of fur, so I know its because she is just too hot, if she plays alot too she pants but that is all usual. Dont know what climate you are in but that is probably the main cause.
