We have a little Shih Tzu Maltese mix and she is absolutely beautiful.
Everyone always comments on how cute she is. She is basically white and golden with some black on ears and tail. She has the coloring of a Shih Tzu but features are more Maltese. She doesn't snore because she has a longer snout. She is 6 years old, loves to play and is basically healthy. Although she seens to suffer from acid reflux so she gets 1/4 a Pepcid AC pill with breakfast and dinner. She does eat a little lunch which seems to help with reflux. She is on a special diet from the Vet's office
canned Hill's prescription diet w/d. For treats she eats Lamb's ears and nothing with beef in it. She has never been kenneled when we go on vacation we get a dog sitter, family or friend and pay them what it would cost to kennel. She has lots of toys goes about everywhere with us, sometimes even on vacation! We know someone who adopted one of her litter mates and their dog is not nearly so adorable. Ours was the runt of the litter and both had demideptic mange(sp?) and had to be dipped to control mites when just pups. Ours outgrew the problem but the other dog had to be dipped several times. Their dog is now blind and deaf which I suspect is related to dipping. Ours is a picky eater and I finally gave up on dry food. She only eats wet and it must be room temperature, so any refrigerated food is warmed slightly to take chill off.
Sounds like alot of work but there is nothing better then that tail wagging greeting you get when you return from running errands!

Welcome to auspet! Sounds like you have a great pet... and that you are really taking care of her. You'll have to post pics so you can show us all what a cutie you have... what's her name?
