for the past week my dog has been acting very weird in the morning
normally she gets up and my hubby feeds her and then she goes outside for her business

the past week he says she has been acting afraid in the mornings, she won't eat her food and won't cuddle with him or go outside as usual
he says it'slike she's afraid of him, he hasn't done anything to her...she's his baby, she's always been closer to him than to me and my son

the only thing that has been different this past week is that usually he adds turkey to her morning food and i didn't get a chance to go to the deli and get her fresh turkey so he's been feeding her just her dog food

could she be thinking that she's done something wrong because she has no turkey?

it's all just very strange and i'm worried about her

She may miss her turkey a little but I doubt thats whats going on.

How old is she? Does she have any other problems that youve noticed? like is she urinating/pooping okay? eating and drinking okay? Is it strictly in the morning that she is like this or all the time?

I know you say your husband hasnt done anything to her (so dont take this the wrong way, Im not suggesting anything bad at all) but is it possible he tripped near her or startled her at some point. Things have happened in my house that I hadnt given a second thought to but its scared one of the dogs, like the wind catching a door and making it slam, I tripped on one of the dog toys one time and 'flew' across the room, scared the life out of my whippet and she wouldnt come near me for a few hours and even after that was a little wary for another couple of days.

Im just throwing a couple of things out there, when theres a sudden behavioural change theres a reason for it, especially if its in a set pattern.

well, i picked her up some turkey yesterday finally and she's back to normal

how weird is that to think her not having her turkey in the morning could make her act so different

I have an odd behavior to share as well. Since we moved into our new house last September, Grace is afraid to eat out of a ceramic bowl. She will only eat off a plate. We tried stainless and plastic bowls with the same results. Only a plate will do.

She would look at the bowls and back up and look totally freaked out like it was going to attack her or something.

well, she's doing it again so obviously it has nothing to do with the turkey

she's also not only acting like that with my husband, but with all of us

and not just in the mornings now but at almost every mealtime

some days she goes for her food normally but more days than not she just won't eat normally

the other day she wouldn't eat until my hubby went outside to get the garbage pails in the morning then the rest of the day she was fine

yesterday she would only eat if we put her dish in her crate

today she ate her breakfast but l;unch and now dinner she won't eat at all even if i put her dish in her crate

    i'm out of ideas

we've racked our brains and cannot remember anything upsetting happening to her about food, and she's inconsistant with the way she acts(some days she's fine others she won't eat)

it's like she has some kind of mental problem with food now
even if i brought her to the vet what could the vet do for her?

Your vet can check her stool for parasites, do blood work and an exam to see if there's something internal that's causing her pain. For example, abdominal pain, caused by giardia, kidney or liver problems, or even acid reflux, could put her off her food and make her act strangely. Sometimes what we think is fear is actually pain, and unfortunately dog's can't point at their belly and say "It hurts here."

Ditto to what shine says, I would take her to the vet and a have a throrough check up, that way you can rule out any medical problems.

    How old is your dog?
