One of my cats - I am not sure which one, has taken a sudden liking to digging up my plants... I tried putting foil around the base and that didn't help...

I love them for their personalities - but sometimes I wish they'd be a little less.... cat like... ;) not so scheming, and more lazy - i swear thats why they sleep so much - they are all really plotting to take over the world :)

Ok - so i got carried away - I am trying to find humour in this latest development!

What eman has suggested works very well. If you don't want to spend any money just go gather some rocks from outside (if there are any in your area).

I love the rock idea except how does one prevent toddlers and babies from grabbing the rocks?

the only thing i could think of is put it somewhere they cant reach and when they are old enough u can tell them it is not ok. with my kids..even if i didnt put any rocks they would still play with the soil or pull out the plant leaves, so i put the plants out of reach.

I have fake plants throughout the house. I placed Spanish moss to make it decorative. Rene ate them without me knowing and ended up with gastroenteritis so I ditched all the moss. Now the pots look terrible. My toddler as a baby would rip off the moss. I'd love the rock idea except my 3 year old can access all parts of the house so I'm concerned that he'll grab rocks and throw them. My 7 month old scoots and puts everything in her mouth, lol. I'm also worried that she'll grab, eat and toss the rocks. I guess I'll just have to watch them like a hawk, lol.
