grumpy cat at night

I have 2 kitties, one I have had for 3 years (Oscar), the other for one year (Eun Hee). They adjusted well and were buddies for a while. Now, the older cat is having issues. They are fine during the day. They play together, wash each other, and curl up sleeping together. At night Oscar gets very hostile towads Eun Hee. He growls and hisses at her if she is even in the same room with him. He will bite her (not in a playful way). He even growls at me (which he has never done) if I pick him up to move him away from her. In the morning he is back to normal. Any ideas why this happens at night?

HIya! sorry to hear about your problem.

Maybe there is something wrong with Oscars vision at night or something that makes him uneasy and causes this behavior.

When did this start? How long has it been going on? Has there been any recent changes in Oscar's envirnment that may have stressed him out or something?

No strange cats. I also do not think it is his eyesight. He reacts the same way whether the lights are on or off.

sometimes at night..i notice max is growling by the door. i never knew why...and one day i looked outside and there was a cat outside and it ran away as soon as it saw me. even though Max couldnt even see the cat..he knew it was outside.

His growling seems to be directly related to my other cat, which I can understand. But why would he only be aggravated by her at night? It's a mystery.
