My vet gave me some eye drops for my kitten. Anyone have any tricks for easily getting them in his eyes?

I've never had to do that (yet). Perhaps wrapping the kitten in a towel first might help?

Agree with Jamiya, 'kitty burrito' (as its commonly known), wrap the kitty up in a towel, tilt the head back by holding around the back of the head and under the jaw with your fingers then with your 'spare' first finger just ease the top of eyelid open and put in one drop.

    or

with the hand you have to eye drops in, use your little finger to ease the eyelid open....

sometimes it takes two people, watch you dont get bitten or scratched.

    Good luck.

make sure to wrap up those back feet real well too...those claws will slice you up good! Been there...have the scars to prove it.

Hi. Also maybe try to place the drops when your cat is asleep. Obviously the he will wake up after the first drop has quickly been placed in one eye, but then you can put the other drop into the other eye when the he falls asleep again.

It just got a lot easier. After day two, he actually will hold still while I put them in.

I gave my cat eyedrops, for years.

I had a special place, on the bathroom counter, just for that.

one thing, you can do, is make them feel safe.. like for me, if they're in the bedroom, on the bed.. I don't take them away and give them meds.
    Thats their "safe" area..

of course, i might entice them out.. lol

just speak softly and sweetly to them, tell them how good they are..
wrap a towel, around the whole body, one hand open eye, other put drops in.

then feed cat a treat

eventually you might not even need a towel! I was able to just put my cat, on the counter.. and do it..

trimming claws w/ special clipper, first tho always a good idea..
