I heard this morning they are tyring to keept the fires from spreading to you area

 

It's getting real close. We should know by the end of the day what is going on.

Yep I was here and had to evacuate. Went to Hisperia had to evacuate again, went to Santa Clarita was almost forced out again.

 

Were you at the Lake? or the college? I know the college had to relocate people, cant imagine what that must have been like for you, for everyone.

Maybe I met your dogs if they were at the fairgrounds.

Anyways, hope things are under control up there now, just before I left CA in 04 I drove through the back roads from Apple Valley to the Cajon pass, the total devastation there....but it was good to see that in the midst of the blackened ground were little green shoots starting to come.

 

I went to a friends home both places. If you had met me you would have rememberd Dowser for sure. No one forgets him.

 

Stay safe and be carefull! The fire in '03 was knocking on my door and it was scary as hell.
A fire just popped up here in east county, Pine Valley area AND a multicar pileup on the only freeway that will take you out of there. Yeesh!

 

When the 03 fires started I was on my way down to visit friends in La Verne (from the High Desert....so the 15 fwy), I knew one fire had started but by the time I got to near Rancho it was on both sides of the freeway.....unbelievable, people were literally pulled up on the shoulder and inside lanes....literally double parked on the freeway on both sides....taking photos and videoing the fires, there were a few fender benders that luckily I wasnt involved in....people would just suddenly slam on the brakes or dart into other lanes because they were too busy watching the fires. :x

Yeah....those are the people who usually get caught in the fire because they waited too long and thought a picture was more important than their life...or cause MASSIVE traffic jams when people need to evacuate. A friend of mine got some good pictures, but that was from far away in an empty parking lot. Not endangering yourself on a freeway with fire on both sides...
