Help with betta thanks

hey everyone

i recentally bought a betta fish which currently is in a ten gal. aquarium. Ive noticed very strange behavior she was fine the first few days but now she is laying on the gravel and every 15 minutes or so she swins as fast as she can to the top of the aquariaam and gulps the air at the top does anyone now what disease this is.

Bettas can be somewhat lazy fish and like to just lounge around (It takes a lot of effort to swim with that big, flowing tail), but just to be on the safe side, what are your readings for ammonia, nitrIte, and nitrAte? What is the temperature in the tank?

I have had Bettas all my life and never in that big of a tank. I honestly think its just too big of a tank so it swims really fast to get air. Usually if you have them in a 1 gallon or a fish bowl they dont do that. You should try getting an air pump and a bubble stone with lets off air in the tank. try that before you try and diagnose the betta with anything

i have had a betta in my 50 gal planted aquarium and it never did that get all the reading like t-chelle said al so you could add a bubble stone also but i would recommend a couple low light live plants
