Well i found out Caesar loves being outside..and since im a big beliver in having indoor only kitties..i got him a leash w/ a figure 8 harness...he kept trying to back out of it at first..but he loves it..in case anyone doesnt know...Caesar is my deaf kitty...i had taken him outside once or twice w/ me...and kinda just held his tail so he didnt take off...but the leash is working out great..i tried it on his brother Romeo..and he is way too skiddish ..he was freaking over every car and noise outside...Caesar is my fearless baby...cant hear anything so nothing scares him....i will have to take some new pics of him in his new zebra print harness...!

Hi. That's a good idea. :y_the_best: Romeo (R.I.P.) and Juliet are also harness trained. I was going to post a picture of them outside with their harness on, but those pics are on my other computer. The funny thing about cats and the harness, is that you don't take them for a walk outside like you do a dog. They take us on a walk! Are you going to post some pics for us?

I got the pic from my other other computer. This was when they were much younger.

That's a great idea! I tried leashing Milo and he almost killed himself trying to break free.

We took Mittens out once with a leash on her. It was hard to get it on her and she kept wanting to go places. It was a bit of a struggle. We haven't done it since. Also, I was afraid she would get fleas again.

If you kitty tolerates a leash, I guess it is a good way to let them have some fun outside.

I am glad to hear this. I have been thinking about harness training my fearless boy and wondered if it is hard for them to grasp. He has tons of energy and loves to explore. He gets bored very easily and I think a little exercise would do wonders for him.

yes im pretty adamant about using frontline plus every month..bc my kitties seem to have a never ending flea issue...i skipped one month..and they were back....and caesar doesnt seem to want to walk or explore on the leash..just roll around and eat the grass..but he is an attention getter..i was outside w/ him today..and about 20 people stopped by to talk to me..and see my pretty blue and gold eyed..long haired white kitty on a leash!!

Winks has been on a harness since I got him and he loves it! Whenever I take it out he comes running up to me all purrs and meows, and he's almost as good as a dog at walking on his leash. I take him out a couple times and week and he pulls me around, and I took him to the local Pet Quarters a couple weeks ago and the employees were wicked impressed with him as he strutted his stuff around the store.

Wow! That is great that your cat is able to get fresh air and not run away!! I also have my 2 cats on a leash when I put them outside. I definitly would rather then be indoor only cats, but they love the warm sunshine....and Always want to go out. I let them out for maybe 40 mins 1-2 times a week (if that).
I have a collar on them, with a regular light weight leash that only goes 15 feet. They love it!!
Good job with your harness & leashes too!!! :y_the_best:

My cats are indoor cats too, as I believe they should be, I also have just not long bought a harness for Jay, he absolutly loved it outside, he bounded and ran with my daughter out the back creek area, it was hillarious... So know he can go outside without me worrying..
