That is sad, but it happens everywhere sadly enough. I have read somewhere that aboriginal people of Australia will sometimes beat a cat to death because cats are so bad there. Cats are not native to the area, so they kill all the native animals, they create lots of problems. I also saw a tv show on it once where this man had a bumper sticker that said "the only good cat is a dead cat" and he bragged about how many ho would kill.
I don't know if you have ever been to Athens, but Athens isn't really a totally developed place, they have goats and sheep and chickens running around everywhere, in addition they have dogs with giant ticks everywhere. Anyway, just before the Olympics, they started killing off all the dogs down there, to make the city prettier for all the visitors. People from all over Europe went down to rescue the dogs (and are still going down there) and get them out of there.
I wish animals didn't have to die and everyone was responsible.

I'm Australian and i have to say i've never heard of Aboriginal people doing that.

Feral cats do cause the native wildlife a lot of problems but they are generally trapped and PTS....though there are a few professionals that shoot them for their pelts. A lot of places here now have a curfew for cats and registration laws (my city requires all cats to be registered)

You're thinking of Rabbits back in the 80's I think... I've seen footage of Austrailians, aboriginal and others beating trapped bunnies like they did seals back in the day (they meaning people, not austrailians)...

I remember when people went out in Helicopters and on foot or horseback with rifles shooting whole herds of wild horses in the US...

Everywhere crap happens to non-native animals or native animals alike.

There are alot of dead hearted people in this world, But this website shows us that there are still alot of good people also. all we can do is educate people on animals, all kinds, and bring up our children to respect animals. Maybe people will learn to desex their pets so we don't have an over demand.

As for the native wildlife, we just have to pray that the government wakes up and puts the money to were it should go instead of office morning teas! (i worked for Parks and Wildlife Service)
