I have never left my cats as yet on there own, mine are indoor cats aswell. IMO I would have someone check on them, even indoors they can get into strife, they may tip over there water bowles playing or something like that, you just never know.. But for me personally for peace of mind I would have them checked on..

If you are worried about tipping water bowls, you can always fill the bathroom sinks with water just in case. 4 days is a long weekend, but as long as you clean all the litter boxes before you go and put out more than enough food, they should be fine. i have to leave Vianne for a few days too, but luckily my roommate will be here. good luck!

I accidently locked Gracie in over one weekend when I wasn't having anyone checking on them, and all her extra food and water was in the garage! When I got home one of the bathroom faucets was running (she begs for water from there, and i guess figured out how it came on) and a bag of bread was shredded open. I guess she used one of the potted plants as her toilet, never found that. Anyway, that's my long way of saying that since you're preparing for them to be inside they should be fine. You can always try spillproof water/foodbowls if you think that could become an issue.

    What if the sink empties??
I'd be more inclined to get spill proof water bowls, having water on hand is essential

I wasn't suggesting INSTEAD of water bowls. That's why at the end I said "just in case".

Anything's possible; why not cover all of your bases?

You could get one of those water bowls with a jug that keeps it full for days, i have a 5 gallon one for my 5 dogs, it comes in all differnt sizes, its sturdy and you can be sure there will be enough water for four days. You can get two of them and use one for the dry food too.
    Heres a link to one.

I never suggested you DID say instead of water bowls faeriedust, if the bowls get tipped, and the sink empties, then what???? Just a thought thats all.

Thats excellent Winnie, NOW thats a good way to go.. :y_the_best:

I have those exact same feeding dishes for Vianne and they can easily last more than a week for one cat if you fill 'em to the top. Might wanna put the water one in a corner tho to minimize any accidents from kitty play and crashing into it and tipping it over. That would be a big mess....i know from experience, lol. Vianne, didnt do it tho....doggie did.

I think four days is the maximum, but they will probably be okay as long as they have enough food, water and litter-boxes. Personally I wouldn't leave my cats alone for so long, but that is because Buster poos a LOT :?

yeah i fully expect to come home to at least one accident...but heck i dont mind.they also have 4 clean litterboxes..so im sure it will be great..plus the landlord offered to swing by..so if i get all neurotic...i can cll them......they will only technically be alone wed, thurs and fri..bc i leave tues and come bk at 12 on sat...thanks for all the advice guys..i know i sound like a worried mom..and i am..these are my babies!!!

i left Max and Mini for 3 days and they were fine. as long as there is enough food and water. i put food to last one week, just in case they ate more than usual. and i filled the kitchen and bathroom sink with water. Make sure all the windows are closed because u dont want the wind to blow the door shut and lock a kitty in a room. Mini likes to play with bags and go inside them and sometimes she isnt able to free herself and she needs help getting out. so i checked the whole house for things that might get a cat in trouble, like strings or grocery bags. i also left a light on in the living room, so that when it is night it is not too dark.

well im back...and it was not bad....they tipped over 2 of the 3 bowls of water...but still had one to drink out of...made a huge mess w/ the litter..but other than that they were fine...
