Buster has passed away...

Buster, the stray I picked up over six months ago, was put to sleep yesterday

As you might remember he was moved to the shelter almost two weeks ago, this was to increase his chanses of getting adopted. Since then it's been all down hill with him: He stoped eating a couple of days ago, and when they took him to the vet yesterday, they found out he had actually lost almost one kilo since the first time they weighed him (in June). So they did x-rays and bloodwork and discovered he had kidney faliure and calcification in his spine (I think). This was probably the reason why he peed outside the litterbox so often when he was living with me. They could have put him on meds, but the vet thought it would only be a matter of weeks before he would get really sick, so they decided it was best to let him go.

It breaks my heart to think of what he must have been through in his life, but at least he had a loving home before he died.

Rest in peace Buster, I'll miss you.

I'm sorry Bente. That is really sad. Poor guy did have a medical reason for peeing outside of his litter box. He's at peace now and in a better place.

Aw, I'm really sorry to hear that. You can really tell a difference in him between those two pics; and not just the fact that he's cleaner in the 2nd one. Overall, he just looks so much happier and content in the 2nd one.

Thanks for all the kind words. He was a lovely boy, and I'm glad I could give him a worthy life these last months.
