dragging butts on floor

    why do dogs drag their butts on the floor?[/b]

    Usually indicates they have worms or need there anal glands cleaning.
    A faecal test by your vet will let you know if they have worms, They will also be able to tell you if the glands needs clearing.

    Yep, my mums terrier used to scrape her butt along the ground, we got her tested, all clear on the worms front, she had anal glands that irritated her, so they break them I think, by scrubbing them on the floor lol..Or itch them..Its harmless, as long as they don't have worms..

    It's not quite that harmless if it's anal glands. If they manage to express them on your carpet, it'll reek. And if they're impacted they can become infected, abcessed, and burst. A burst anal gland isn't fun to deal with at all. Sometimes they need to be removed surgically.
