We ended up taking Toonces (our super shy/timid kitty) back to the rescue group because she just wasn't doing well with our other cats (good news is her former foster mom is fostering her again and her other foster right now is a super mellow 15 year old so hopefully they'll get along okay).

Anyway, that brought us back down to 4 cats, but I plan on moving & getting my own place (hopefully) sometime early next year and when I do, I'm taking Romeo with me. I'm worried about him going from having my mom home all day and 3 other cats to play with to being home all by himself while I'm at work so I was wanting to get him a little friend, but dad said "no more cats".

Then this morning Mom & I were leaving Walmart and saw some people giving away kittens. I reminded her that dad said no, and she says "but look at the little spotted one!" So her being the bad influence that she is, we went & looked and fell in love with the little white calico kitten, and took her home hoping my dad wouldn't be furious.

I think he's a little upset that we made the decision w/o him, but he didn't tell us to take her back (we'd gotten the lady's phone number just in case). So now I have little Dot (who, btw, isn't named that because she has spots, she just looks like a Dot). They said she's 11 weeks old, but there's no way. I'm guessing more like 7. She has a minor eye infection, probably worms, and I found & killed 2 fleas (only ones I saw), but otherwise looks pretty good for being a barn kitten. She is being isolated, though, until we can get her to the vet for a good looking over on Friday.

Her spots (and I love the white tips on her ears).

She is adorable! I'm sorry about the other kitty. But, it looks like things will work out since the cat has a foster home to go back to.

We've had to return a kitty to the humane society because our household was so upset with the kitties not being able to get along. I think you did the right thing.

Your new kitty is adorable. We used to have a Calico kitty and she has the sweetest personality. Hopefully she'll get along with your other kitties.
I guess you'll take her with you when you move?

Oh she is so cute. That was nice that you wanted to get Romeo a pal. I hope they will become good buds. Hopefully the other cat will find a forever home soon. Great that he is able to go back to the old foster Mom again.

Yeah, Toonces was just miserable. She was basically afriad to come out of the corner. The other cat's aren't necessarily mean, they just wanted to play, but she thought they were attacking her. It wasn't fair to make her live like that.

Yes. She & Romeo are my cats and will be going with me. The other 3 are my parents' cats.

No, she was in the middle of yawning.

Just got back from the vet and she doesn't have ear mites or worms and her eye infection is actually looking better today, but he gave her some ointment anyway and she got her first set of shots. When we told him the people said she was 11 weeks and he just laughed. He said she's closer to 6 weeks.

And I've decided she has some siamese in her. She has a really long body and long legs and around the spots on her face, it's actually cream that fades out to white kind of like a siamese. And one of the other kittens they were giving away (from a different litter - but they have 11 outdoor cats on their land) had siamese markings so I'm thinking maybe the dad was a siamese. But she also has ear tufts and a relatively long tail for a kitten (usually, they're short, stubby little tails) so I'm thinking some maine coon mixed in as well.

And I just called her name and she came running from across the room so she knows it already.

    Dot says "thanks." :)

    Couple new pics.

I've been making Romeo spend the night in my room with Dot so they're starting to get used to eachother. There's still the occasional hiss & swat, but they were actually playing together yesterday.

Here's a few more pics of her playing with Romeo. He's being a really good big brother. When they play, it looks like he's trying to eat her, but he's actually really gentle. When I brought him in my room last night, she came flying from the other side of the room to say hi to him. She loves her big brother (he still thinks she's an annoying little sister at times, though, but he does like playing with her when he's in the mood).
