Calico Cat won't eat.

I have a 7 year old calico cat. She was a rescue. I picked her up about 4 years ago. Since then she has quite the appetite and was gaining weight. Recently she has had some symptoms I have noticed. She has lost her appetite and hides in unusual places. I took her to the vet and they took 3 biopsy's of her. They came back inconclusive. She had surgery and the vets said she has a golf ball shaped mass that is intertwined in her stomach and intestine. They vets don't know what to do. I am getting another opinion. What do I do with her? Not sure if I want to do Chemo. I am trying my best to feed her, but she has lost appetite. Any advice? Are there other situations like this? What can i do immediately. Thx

 

sounds like a 2nd is about the only thing you could do right now.
IF they don't know if it's a cancer or not I wouldn't think chemo would be the best choice only not knowing if that's what it is.
A fatty tumor perhaps? I had a dog who had one in her abdomen but luckily it was easily removed before it became caught up in organs.
I'd get a 2nd and take it from there

 

I was wondering if you have an update on your kitty?? Hopefully all is well and they figured out what what her issue was..

 

Thanks for your concern. Well, we have decided to force feed her. She has now gained some weight back. We threw the option of Chemo out as we feel she will remit. Thanks again!

 

Glad to hear that she is gaining weight, you can add nutrical to the feedings. It is a nutritional supplement paste. good luck I hope that you don't have to force it for very long, and that she will start eating on her own.

 

cancer or not cancer

you did not state it was cancer but the test came back inconclusive so I would not be looking at Chemo. It is possible it is a fatty tumor or mass cell. Until they can determine exactly what it is it is difficult to determine the next step.
Outside of operating and actually removing it.
