I want to get crabs!

All joking aside I would like to put together a little invertabrite tank and I would like to put possibly an blue electric crayfish in a tank with a couple fiddler crabs and I was wondering if there would be any friction. Also this may be in the wrong forum but I was also wondering how a toad (most likely firebelly) would get along with the crabs. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks much

 

Crayfish live in freshwater while fiddler crabs live in saltwater (or at least brackish) so they would not be compatible. I would also worry about the crayfish attacking the crabs as they are known to be aggressive with their own species.

If you're going to put a crayfish in the tank keep the toad out. Crayfish will eat nearly anything they can get their claws on. I've heard fiddler crabs can be compatible with toads, as they tend to be a more peaceful species.

 

What ever you decide to get just make sure all the gaps and spaces at the top of your tank are covered!
I'm not sure how these little escape artists do it, but i've lost quite a few crabs, crayfish and even a 6" Electric Blue Lobster, to them falling out of the tank and finding the either dried up in the morning or a snack for my cat!

Cover your tank well
