My kitty keeps eating all her fur off

I can't seem to understand why my 4 year old cat keeps licking all the fur off her belly and legs. The vet says she has OCD or is just a "nervous kitty" Gives her a cortozone shot and sends us home. Any thoughts or suggesstions? We changed her food to a lamb and rice from chicken and corn. Still no use. She just keeps licking away.

    one word - CLOMICALM
I just had a foster go home (well Christmas Eve) who had a furpulling problem and after a food trial and cortisone shots, which didn't work, it was deemed stress for her. Her adopter had her on Prozac and that didn't help so the vet put her on Clomicalm and now for the first time in 8 years this kitty is growing fur again on her belly. Her former owner did nothing for her.
In the right dosage this will be given for 6 months, weaned off for awhile, and if the behavior comes back the cat will go back on it.

Is this given in a shot or pill form?

pill....you have to get from vet. It's not cheap but then again neither are monthly cortisone shots which won't do much good if it's not allergy related. Did nothing for Scooter (foster).
It's probably $30/month supply (about what I paid for my dog).
It's a daily dosage which is slowly weaned off after 6 months with a waiting period to see if the condition continues....if not no need to go back, if it comes back the cat might have to be on it forever but in many cases once the behavior is corrected it doesn't return

My 14 year old does this too with her belly. I just re-direct her as I can and she looses interest......sometimes....... I think she does this because her tits itch sometimes....
