outside shih tzu

My neighbors have a 1 year old male shih tzu that has been left outside all of its life. We just moved next door 2 months ago and have a precious shih tzu who lives inside and gets the best care possible. It is very upsetting to us the condition of our new little friend. He has quickly become a fan of our family because we give him attention and love. Because he has been neglected he is very untrained. He is aggressive and has no manners. We want to rescue him but we are concerned how we could train him at his age and with his agression issues. For example, he has never had any toys of his own so one day he was playing with my dogs toy, which was ok with me and my dog. But when it was time to give it back he refused and bit at us if we tried to take it from him. Also, we allow him to come in and get loved on sometimes. He runs straight for my dogs chewy bones and heads for the door and refuses to turn it loose. He growls and bites at us. I absolutely adore him and want to give him a better life, but I don't know how to address his issues. Please help!

 

When it comes to Shih Tzu, I believe, they are really so cute though aggressive most of the time. I just thought that we are blessed enough that our male dog is well disciplined. Actually, we did not give him any training at all. We just welcome him and treat him just like our family. We rewarded him also when he has done something good. I suggest that if you are really interested with your neighbor's Shih Tzu and you are willing to adopt him, you may do the same treatment that I've mentioned.
