Shitzu eats cooked bone

My shitzu at a cooked beef rib bone...the whole thing. Should I be concerned? What can I expect to happen?

 

Nothing should happen as usually with cooked bones they splinter and get stick in their throats..

Since you dog managed to eat and swallow with no problems then hopefully he is ok..

My dogs eat cooked bones all the time but i do not recommend this, my dogs only get them becuase, they do not eat raw bones they do not get chicken bones because they do splinter and cause choking and vomiting and need veterinary attention.

What out for him stopping eating, drinking, choking, vomiting or being lethargic if thiese happen get him straight to the vets as some of the bone could have become lodge somewhere.

Reading through posts tonight and finding more questions....I heard beef bones were okay, that they did not splinter, is this true or should I not give mine the T-bones they get (yes, changed steaks to suite the spoiled brats)?

 

Beef bones should really be given raw.
I have too cook bones for my dogs because they will not eat them raw but i watch them like crazy while they are eating them.

The bones that have marrow in the middle are usually fine and mine have never had a problem.
But its always best if feeding bones to watch them all the time.

I don't recommend feeding your dog with cooked bones because cooked bones might splinter and cause internal injuries. Though my pug sometimes eats cooked bones I still would prefer raw bones because it is said that they can help keep teeth and gums healthy, provide added nutrition and help cleanse the digestive tract of dogs.
