Help - He won't stop whinning!

I recently purchased a peekapoo. Beautiful dog, but he will not stop whinning. I think it is because he is trying to establish his dominance in the house. I am being very patient and understanding but I want it to stop. He is a very loving baby boy of 9 weeks old. I also think he misses his sisters and brothers. Are there any suggestions?
    Thanks

HI. a puppy that whines all the time should not be paid any attention unless its because they need to go out.
A whiney pup will soon learn cry and they owner will go running and give attention.

My advice is get him a create and put a blanket, plus something old of yours with your scent on plus a teddy for him to snuggle to. Also putting a ticking clock under the blanket will mimic the mothers heartbeat and soothe the pup.

Never give into his whinning or you will end up with a dog that will suffer seperation anxiety and will end up chewing things or going crazy till you come back...

Hi and welcome to the boards....
I completely agree with Charmedagain!! don't give in to the puppy crate him, give him the comfort items. This will only get worse if you give into his whines... And then you will have a puppy that will destroy things and will be a handful!!
I found that a radio helped my dog liked music but when I was using it for my kittens they did best with talk radio.... good luck

Ignore your puppy's whining for as long as it takes him to stop. That means don't give him any attention at all while he's barking. Your attention only rewards him for being noisy. Don't talk to him, don't touch him, and don't even look at him. When he finally quiets, even to take a breath, reward him with a treat.

To be successful with this method, you must wait as long as it takes for him to stop whining. If he barks for an hour and you finally get so frustrated that you yell at him to be quiet, the next time he'll probably bark for an hour and a half. He learns that if he just whine long enough you'll give him attention.

    Hello!

Puppies may cry and whine, depending on the situation. These are usually cries for help or for the need to be comforted. Please do not ignore your puppy’s whines or cries, and try to know the cause of their distress.

It is crucial to provide puppies with the comfort they need in the first few days you bring them home and to later give them the proper training to address any specific behavior issues or to add to their communication skills.
