I don't mind Arabians. They're not my favorite, but I like them. Not enough to own one though :p Take a guess from my screen name, I'll take a Thoroughbred over anything else any day.

I cant say I 'hate' any breed of horse, since when you get down to it they are all horses. Im not too keen on arabs, I like some, and dont care for others. I have an Arab cross stallion and he is a handful, but I love him to death!

But I do prefer Paso Finos and Paints ( a colored Paso Fino put the icing on the cake for me)

Arabians are an okay horse but i wouldnt say they are the best!

Personally, if its got four legs, a tail and a mane, I love it.

The Caspian is intresting to me. My Bio professor just had a filly. She's adorable!

    lippizaners (sp?) are my fav.

I think arabs are beautiful. Too high strung for me, but beautiful nonetheless.

I'd have to agree w/ Samsintentions....(ouy, thats a mouthful!)
If its got 4 legs, a mane and a tail, then I adore it. I'm not really crazy about Arabians, but mine's a gentleman.

I'm really fond of all the draft breeds, anything w/ a percheron (or bigger) build. Horse feathers are beautiful! More! More! :love_y_t_much:

I'd like to own a retired carrage horse one day. I'd spend hours brushing out those legs. Le sigh.

I must say Arabs have never been a favorite of mine! to high strung for me!! I have always loved quarter horses. I have trained thouroughbreds right off the track. But I stopped that after one broke me!! 5 days of being paralized was enough for me. I would not mind a quarter/thoroughbred mix. I have heard they make GREAT barrel racers. Fast as lighting and can turn on a dime!!

You'd love Taco then!! She's half perch, and quarter.

    The baby is sooo cute!

I'm training a clydes....his feathers have been shaved off though. When they brought him to me, his legs were sooo matted with burs it was hopeless..... but they're growing back out rather quickly!

TACO! What an adorable name! I think we need a thread about cute/funny/original horse names.

Aw! Well, I hope those feathers grow back in this Texas heat (I think thats where you are.)lol

Do you know what the sire of Taco's baby (colt/filly?) was? Wonder how big it'll get...hmm....only a good 5 or 6 years and you'll know for sure. ;)
    lol

We have 7 full-bred Arabians. I love them. So many people say they are so high strung and "crazy". Mine are so sweet. Every one of 'em. Especially my horse, Khomaya. Her and I are on like the same brainwave...I know what she plans on doin, before she does it. I rode her once and we had a cat that wanted to ride too...well rather than let me help him up...he decided to climb up himself...or jump...he just kinda stuck to the right side of her stomach. I've never seen or felt that horse bounce so much...and I held on the whole time...I thought she was gonna kill me. But ever since then...we are closer. We don't stand still to long when cats come near anymore.

Also, when i was younger, my mom would help me on and off of her...but she always had trouble getting me off...because Khomaya (a mare) would start getting very protective of me and start acting like a stallion, and grunt and get very agitated whenever mom got close.

We also have a gelding who is the cutest thing in the world. He looks almost like a quarter horse...he never grows his forlock...he always rubs it off. And I have him nearly trained to nod yes when i ask him a question. And he loves to stick his tongue out all the way and make the funniest faces. He is such a beast. He's SOOO short, but he's SOOO solid!

We also have a stallion who's like great-grandfather (or grandfather, i forget) was a hugely famous breeding stallion (Bold Fire), and his grandpa (or father) was Bold Finale. He is Bold Finales Legacy. He's so cute...at a show once, I gave him a kiss on his nose, and he looked almost embarrased, it was so cute!

    I love my horses...my arabians... :D

Ok Arab lover, no need to get all bent out of shape here!

Taco is doing great and baby is getting big!!!!

She should mature to be about 15.5-16hh
She's going to be one Stocky filly!!!!

Oh yes, Feathers will grow back anywhere. One thing about Texas and the heat is skin allergies that can develop under all that hair!

I LOVE Arabs... I guess I'm a sucker for the hard work that comes with them being high strung and all... I love that about them (I know I know I'm a weirdo) but I love them... I Like Fresians too...and TB's...I'd LOVE to have an Anglo Arab.

But to be honest...I'm also in the same school of thought that if it has four legs, a mane and tail I love it.

I love Standardbreds, Appaloosas and Arabs. But I wouldn't like to own an Arab, they can be a handfull....
