Type of Crate ~ Opinions Please

I would love to hear opinions from those of you who got crates for your babies. I know not everyone has crate trained, but I think some of you do have some sort of crate for your pups... even if they are left open all the time and are just an area for them to rest in.

What kind did you get? Where did you get it? Approx. how much was it?

I've been searching online as it's now time to choose one!!

    Thank you :D

    Well, I actually have two:

-The first one is HUGE, big enough for a golden retriever to fit into, which I keep in my kitchen where it fits so nicely in a corner. The cage has been there from the day I brought home Mickey & Tigger, and is still there today. I plan to actually leave it there because it is not in the way at all, and Mickey and Tigger will sometimes go in there on their own...I always leave the door open, and it has a nice soft dog bed that fits inside there perfectly! (Here's a link to see what it looks like: http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?f ... nnels&ct3=) As you can see I bought the one for dogs up to 110 lbs....nice and roomy! :D

-The other one I bought is a smaller crate, which I hardly ever use any more at all, and used it once and a while in the past for a little bit here and there only so Mickey & Tigger would get used to crates (small ones) and not flip out if they ever needed to be in one in the future for whatever reason. In fact, I am giving it away only because I don't use it any more! (Here's a link to see the exact brand and size I bought: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_ ... 3866990662 ) It is a great crate, and an excellent brand!

I don't think you can really go wrong in a crate that you buy!

If I were you, in order to save money, I would get a crate that your pups can grow into and have enough room to FULLY stretch out in. Otherwise you will have to buy new ones as they grow. This is of course if you plan on crating them now and in the future as well!

    Have fun with the shopping!

    great crates

that is what I bought for Jack and he uses it to sleep in at night and to take a nap in the afternoon. It is where he goes when we are having large parties with a lot of kids running around and food is everywhere, He would just eat until he exploded otherwise and he needs to have a place that is safe from pestering from all the rambuctious kids! I purchased one of those indestructable dog beds after he destroyed numerous doggy beds, towels, rugs and blankets. It is custom made for the size crate I have , easy to clean, comfortable and so far he has not mananged to eat it! Best investment I have made for him! Hope this helps a little!

You can get the same crate at wal-mart and other stores .I know cause I got 2 large ones to transport rescues .they may be less expensive there .Don't know but you can look and see .
