no he/she is find that's what they do at night or during some days
i have syrian long hair for about 1year and i had s hamster befor
do u have any toys that he/she can play?
hamster weak during night and sleep during the day
if he/she is wily hyper try to play with him so he don't burn out

I know alot of pet stores let peopel openly touch and pet and play with the hamsters so if thats the case he might have be abused in the store, also he could be just getting used to the surroundings.

i opened the cage cause he usually doesnt climb out and he tried climbin out and i put my hand there to support him and at first he just sniffed me and then walked away but it came back and i tried it again... this time he walked onto my hand and he bit it like continuously... is it untamable? because ive had it for 3 weeks already and i never tried to pick it up

I've had about 4 hamsters. My first hampster Caramel was fine. My second hamster Rocky was the most friendly hamster and never bit. But my third hamster Charms hated being in a cage. All he did all day was try to get out. When I put my hand in his cage he bit me but once he was out he was fine. Maybe they some of them r territorial. Sadly Charms didn't live long like my other two before and she died at about 4 months old. Now my 4th hampster Mellow is good, doesn't bite but tries to escape and has succeeded a few times. Luckily Trixie (my dog) didn't find her. I think it's kinda a chance u take most of them are really nice but some of them just don't like people putting their hands in cages. The best thing u could prob. do is handle them alot. Good Luck

i am sure this is natural. my longhaired hammy does that sometimes. usually they are just scared. most long haired hamsters get spooked easly
