Why was there a buttermilk buiskit in the trash!? j/k yeah my dog did somthing kind of like that. it was Suger when she was a puppy, she was real small and this one time she was inside and she went into a dark closet with the door open and we called her out, (lol she just looked so funny when she ran) and she went in there and then she comes out trotting around with this slipper that was in there and dashed through the door before we could do anything. It was one of those things that was funnier to see than to hear about. lol

Okay, Harley is a total NUT and makes me laugh everyday. But, here are two funny things.

After her bath a while ago she jumped out of the tub and I had forgotten to close the bathroom door, so she got out and was barrelling down the hall to get away from me and the towel. Well, she hit the kitchen tile, slipped on her butt all the way across it ans smacked right into the cupboards. OMG!! I fell over laughing. It was too funny. She was soo terrified when she was gliding across the floor.
she is not a graceful dog by any stretch. She is CONSTANTLY walking into walls, or not giving herself enough room to turn and knocking her head. I wonder about that girl sometimes.

Also, her fav. game is catch. Doesn't matter what it is. If it can be thrown, she will catch it. The problem is, she doesn't run far enough out to catch the ball so she is constantly running after her toys with her mouth open. Its pretty funny to see.

This is Harley during that bath time. hehe

After his bath, Rusty does what we call his "Turbo Dog" routine.... we dry him off, let him down, and STAND BACK!!! He is off to the races! It's hilarious.... he runs full out, into the bedroom, back to the living room, around the couch, out to the kitchen, then back to the bedroom.... all the while with this big ear to ear doggy grin..... until he is exhausted and flops down on the rug, turns over onto his back, and wiggles all around to dry his back. Then he stands up and sort of lowers his head neck and chest onto the rug, and roots around to dry his front side off.....Usually by then he is ready for another few laps around the house at high speed! We haven't figured out if all this is because he feels so good after a bath, or just that he is so happy it's over!

My dogs act crazy after a bath to, but especially my Pekingese she is a little freak show after a bath she runs through the house from rom to room jumping on furniture howling and whimpering as if she were in pain. She does it every single time! The first time she did it I thought she was actually in physical pain so I took her in to the vet and he gave her a clean bill of health.

Jakes favorite thing to do is to run thru your legs after he is done with his bath. we did this when he was a pup, at the time it was so cute, he would go back and forth between our legs to dry off on our pants. Now its not so cute that he is full grown and 100# and wants to do it, practilly knocking me down, and now that we have a pool, he wants to do it every time he gets out :p

Dogs just have a hard time realizing that they grow, don't they? They think they're the same size they've always been! It took quite awhile before my St. Bernard could accept he couldn't sit on my lap anymore like he did when he was a puppy
At least now with Rusty, we don't have to worry much, he's always going to be a little guy...even though he doesn't think he is!

I have this image stuck in my head of a huge St. Bernard sprawled on the couch with a tuft of human hair barely visible on one side and half of a human foot on the other...

OK, keep in mind that this was in the late 70's and not really a blood relative... but... We had a Golden Retriever named Maggie when I was a little girl and we were up at the lake and could not find her anywhere. She was about 10 months old. My older step brother (kind of an idiot as the story will show) had a bag of an "illegal" plant like substance in his jean pockets that he left on the back room floor when he changed into his bathing suit. Finally, we could hear some whining ang our search brought us to the back room where we still could not see her, but we could hear her. I looked under the couch and realized that she had climbed up into the ripped lining of the couch and was trapped! My dad cut the back off the couch to get her out! When we did, she was wobbly and would take a few steps, with her head completley down on the ground, then lay down and start snoring instantly! Then she would get up and drag her head again for a few steps then start sleeping! It was about the time that she began to eat every piece of food, etc..that she could find that my dad found the plant like substance on the floor of the back room under my step borthers pants. From that day on, we would sing Rod Stewart's Wake up Maggie to her! Just say no goes for animals too!

    LOLOL Sarge's mom.....Too Funny!!

Speaking of the posts about bath time, our bulldog doesn't care for them much, but she will stand still in the tub once she's in there.
When she was about 6 months old, we looked everywhere for her when it was bath time. (When she hears the water running, she will hide...even if my daughters are going to take a bath)
Our bathroom toilet is in sort of a cubby type area. There is a wall on each side of the toilet, with about a foot on each side to maneuver. Well, we finally found Lucie wedged beside the toilet, face smashed all the way to the back wall hiding from us. Her butt was sticking out. I was laughing, saying, "Lucie, I can see you!" She wouldn't budge. My daughter had to grab her by the rear and slide her out to give her a bath. Funny dog she is! Makes me laugh every day with her antics.

Hey qwertyhimself! No one has usually heard of Futurama when I tell them my Dog's names!! Everyone usually thinks we named Bender after 'going on a bender'.... uh... no!

I think I may have this pic thing working now... here is Leela's cheeky butt sneaking onto the couch
    [IMG]
This is our outside couch anyway so i wouldn't care if the dogs got on them, but my partner won't have them on any couch... that's why I keep making and buying beds and mats for them!! My partner wishes I gave him the care I give my dogs!
