I'm so sorry to hear about Harry :( . 15 years is a good long life for a kitty and I have little doubt you'll see him again someday. After I lost my soulmate kitty last fall, I adopted another soon after. At times I compared them but I have learned to accept and love the new guy for who he is. My sympathies are with you and your wife.

I am sorry to hear about your Harry...in 2001, I lost a kitty to CRF...she had struggled with it for two years...I waited untill November 2003 to get another kitty. It was hard when I was looking at kittens and cats, I cried a couple of times. I finally found a kitty that I knew was the perfect one for me.
Take your time, animals hold such a special place in our lives and in our families and they need to be mourned and we need to be able to heal with the loss of them.

    Take Care,

hi jt. i just got my computer fixed this am, and read the post. i am so, so sorry that you lost harry. :( my kitty otis died three months ago. he was my soulmate too. and almost twenty years old. it was just the two of us for many years. i didnt want to say anything at the time, because every situation is different. but, when you said he was "wobbly" that day, it took me back to the day that otis died. he was "wobbly" that day. it had never happened before.

i knew there was something wrong with otis...i just knew...

please read the poem called "rainbow bridge". just key the words in and the website will come up. it will make you cry. i sobbed and sobbed. it is a beautiful poem about meeting your little kitty again someday.

i cried and cried when otis died. :( it eases. i wanted to wait too...but my brother in law wrote me a two page letter. he had lost his beloved black lab a couple of years ago. he suggested that i get a new kitty asap...he said "not to replace" but because there are so many kitties out there that need the kind of love i have to give...

i went out that day. car was like it was on auto pilot.

although it is all so individual. i am truly sorry for your loss.
