Dwarf Hamster

OK, I'm getting a dwarf hamster variety which I never had before (russian) please could u giv me sum advice???????? :?

What kind of advice? Taming, Housing, Nutrition, Picking one out...ect.?
Just please be more specific.

Syrian or dwarf hamster care is pretty much the same, except you can house more than one russian together, and if getting a wire cage, the wires should not be more than 0.5 cm apart so your hamster cannot squeeze though.

 

that is a good site, also be cautiond. these hamsters are short tempered so they get angry easy and bite a lot. i had one almost a year ago she died though :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: but yeah check out that site. i have a hamster website somewhere out there. if i find it ill pm you the www. address.

 

Yeah, if you want a hamster that has a much calmer and gentler temperment then it is probaly best to get a different type!

i just bought a fancy hamster, she has never bit me and they are VERY tame little animals i suggewst you get one of those


I reccomend a super pet crittertrail O.N.E for a cage they are very nice cages and very inexpensive.

 

Be careful with what cage you buy, if you get one where there are no bars the hamster will need alot of wood to chew on. if there are bars the hamster will chew but its not to bad, still be sure to get wood from the store. One more thing, your hamster is alot more tame because of the nature of the hamster, dwarf hamsters are short tempered.
