Running a horse.

How long can an adverage farm horse run for continuosly at full speed before becoming tired.

Thank you Laura05, for your input. I know nothing much about horses. I figured I would have to come up with a breed. I have two breeds I looked up. As I sometimes watch western movies, I realized that people who road horse in the old west relied on their horses, to carry them over great distances, sometimes having to out run other riders. I began to wander if many horses suffered riding abuse. (just very curious)

1. Spanish Mustang
2. Tennessee walker

In the movies, it's all fake. Very few horses can go flying down a hill and break neck speeds continously and not trip. Also, for ranch work, you would want a very dependable horse. spanish mustangs probally aren't really good for ranch work. I've never seen ones, but by the sound of their names, they porbally can't pull a calf up a cliff, but i don't know for sure. also, you would have decsribe average. tall or short? fit or not? young or old? muscular or not?
