Blind fish in pond?

I'm giving my cousin 3 of my bigger goldfish to put in his 15 foot pond.
Should I give him my blind goldfish too? ( 4 to 5 inches)

I'd be worried about his survival chances..

Also is there anything I need to do to make sure their transition from tank to outdoor pond goes smoothly?

    Thanks

If you kept the blind goldfish, what size tank would you house him in? He's a common goldfish, right?

Because he's blind, he would need special attention to make sure he's actually getting food and I'm not sure he would get that in a pond. But at the same time, keeping him in a tank that's too small wouldn't be very good either.

he is in a 15 gallon at the moment, which is kinda ok for now because of his size, but I don't want him to get (forget the term, but when they are in a tank too small..)

I'm at this very moment saving for a 30 gallon.. so that'll be his home then.. I think i'll keep him.. I need to handfeed him a lot to make sure he gets food..

Yeah I think that a blind goldfish would require a good bit of personal attention and that would proby be easier in a indoor tank.

Is he a common goldfish? Or a Fancy?

You'll eventually have to get him a 50+ gallon tank.

I would eventually find someone with a big tank to keep him, as I really have limited room.
but I want to wait until he's at least a quite big goldfish before I chance him in a pond I suppose.. do you think when he's bigger he'd have a good chance in a pond?

Maybe. Someone would still likely have to make sure to put food right in front of him.

Commons/comets get around 12" long. Fancies & shubunkins get 8". And koi get 3 feet.

It sure needs special attention. Better put him in a indoor tank, it may be slow in getting its food.. Do consider its needs.. Best of luck..

my co worker is giving me a small goldfish tomorrow.. her sister is neglecting it badly, not cleaning it out or feeding it. it gets fed every forthnight if its lucky.. I'll have it in quarantine and then try it with my blind fella.. I know he likes to touch against other fish to figure out where to get the food.. so when the others he is with have gone, he'd have another fish as company. that other fish will become a pondfish too later on though if he makes it that long.

I'll try make some room for a 50 gal.. I'v too many rodent tanks at the mo :( and it has to be at the plug..
