The hair on my cat in a couple of areas....

My cat doesn't let anyone touch her still. Well I can touch her, but to the point where her skins curls back and she tries to slice anyones hand near by... I been feeling these hard things in hair. Its in about three small areas. Im not sure if its just tangled hair mixed in from her fecies? Just tangled hair? I was thinking of cutting it.. But now I don't know. Could it be like a scab? She seems really bothered by it when I try and get a look. I try gently and she gets very upset. She's been to the vet not too long ago, he said she was fine and also had all her shots. Shes also a in door cat. Doesn't seem sick to me. Anyone know what I should do? I :?:

is she a long haired cat? maybe she has a skin allergy. i have to be perfectly honest here....

this is what happens when you own a cat....there are expenses to it. if your cat is not behaving right, and you just took her to the vet two weeks ago...or even a week ago...you still need to take her back. at least that is what i do.

i have taken max to the vet at least twenty times since i have gotten him. on the average once a week...(well, now he gets b-12 shots once a week) but i take him in whenever i am worried...and that is costly. my vet is very good, though...he doesnt charge me an office visit most of the time because the problem has been related to the one medical issue that we are trying to resolve.

but...what i am saying is...if your kitty seems to be in pain...i would take her back to the vet. and if you cant afford care...then i would try to find someone to adopt her that can afford the care.

Yes she is a long haired cat... But where did I mention anything about not being able to afford her??? :?: Shes not in pain. She just tries to claw everyone. Thats a normal thing with her. She will let you pet her for a about one minute, and then get upset. Thats just how she is.

Its just these knots (if they are knots) have been there for three weeks. A brush doesn't work on it. I figured she would get them out herself. But it seems she doesnt try anymore. I guess I will call the vet and ask if no one here can figure it out.

I have to agree with lynnhaz on this one. take her in. the least you can do is find out what it is. she might have fleas or something that are causing little worts on her. talk to your vet and get some knowledge on what your dealing with. Good Luck!!!

please accept my apology if i did not interpret your post correctly. that is the problem with emailing...it is so one dimensional, sometimes things get misinterpreted.

but an earlier post of yours said

so i guess that is where i got that...and the spay cost. sorry...no offense...

My Pumpkin who looks a lot like your kitty had 3 huge hard lumps on her fur near the base of her tail on her back a few months ago that I could not comb or brush out. It looks like exudate or scab. I resorted to cut it off with scissors and that solved the problem. She might have scratched herself on some hard object and injured herself. I didn't see any open wounds or anything. It was just hard, lumpy fur. Of course she looked very funny until her fur grew back. I recommend that you cut off the hard fur and see if she has any open skin. This way you'll know for sure whether or not to bring her to the vet :m33:

I was thinking about cutting them off when she goes into heat again. Thats the only time anyone can touch her. Even the vet has problems handling her. So now I know my cat is just strange. Well before I do anything really, im gonna call and ask. But the people won't tell me anything besides bring her in. Oh well

I know you have precious little time to bring your cat to be spayed but you need to do so. Her personality will change for the better. All my cats changed after being neutered and spayed. Plus there's less chance of her getting Pyemetra (spelling?) and other severe problems from going into heat. Can you cut her lumpy fur when she's in deep sleep?

i understand how that is about the not wanting to be touched..my kitty Jazz only wants to be touched on her terms..my 2 new kittens came to me w/ ringworm..and my vet suggested i bathe Jazz as well as a precaution..she has never had a bath..and i am not gonna be the first to try and give it to her...lol..luckily neither her or myself caught the RW

but i do tend to agree w/ the others....anytime your not sure of what a problem is w/ your kitty..you should take them to the vet..its all in their best interest...

is the hair falling out..or is it just matted??
