    :?:
I have never really posted this board but i have read alot of the topics here.

Well i have a male kitten, Merlin, who is about 12-14 Weeks old now. He is beautiful and very loving. Someone left him on my door step when he was 10 weeks old and i took him in. Well when I got him i noticed he had a small bump or knot on the back of his head. It was small at the time and i didn't think anything of it. Well over the last couple of weeks the knot/bump has grown. Its not large enough were it sticks out but when you pet him you can tell it has grown and its there. He and the other Kitten, Jynx (who is female and 2 weeks older than Merlin), are going to the vet next week for their 2nd round of shots. I will get the vet to look at Merlin's head but i was wondering if anyone has had this before? Should i prepare my self for it to be bad?

Even though i have only had them since the first week or 2 in July i am VERY attached. I'm worried about his head. Maybe i am over reacting or something. I feel kinda silly for getting so worked up about it. Merlin and Jynx made our cat total 7.  Of course, I love all my animals and they are VERY well taken care of. I was just hoping someone could maybe give me some insite.

    Thanks in advance!
    Lauren

Is your kitten paticularly skinny? Might just be a bone that wouldn't normaly show and since she/he is a kitty then it would grow alot overtime, Otherwise maby call your vet and see if your vet thinks its urget enough to come in before she/he is scheduled to anyway. Best of Luck!

Marlin is skinny. He has a long tail, long legs, and big ears/paws. Maybe it is just a part that is showing because of his lack of weight. lol Jynx is larger than him by far even though they are only 2 weeks apart. Here is a picture of them. (At least i hope this works)

    [IMG] This is Merlin. :D

Thanks for your reply, you made me think about the whole skinny thing. He eats very well. I think there is a possibility he is younger than the vet thinks he is.[/img]

hi mimilulu...wecome to the kittie forum :m27: :qm2:

that is good advice obelix. calling the vet just to see if it is something to bring him in earlier for. is it a bone? or is it a cyst...can you move it around...? i think i know the bone that obelix was referring to. i think thin animals have it.

    i did a little research...here ya go:

Yea I think it's a bone (its hard and doesn't move around.) After reading that website I'm almost positive thats what it is. I will still call the vet tomorrow and ask her what she recommends. Jynx (the female) has the same bump (I grabbed her and felt  ) and it's the same but she has more weight on her and its harder to feel/find. WOW Thanks soo much for helping me here. I feel silly b/c I tried to search for this and couldn't get anything helpful. Y'all are great. THANKS!

:0013:I guess I should introduce my self. Well my name is Lauren. I'm 19 years old and I live in Baton Rouge, LA. I'm going to Southeastern Louisiana University to major in Nursing. They have one of the best nursing programs here in Louisiana. I'm living at home at the request of mom and dad. They said school is important (which i do believe) so I decided to stay here and drive the 30 miles (one way) to campus everyday. We have 7 cats total. Jynx, Merlin, Sister Cleo, Evin Rude, Salem, Lucky and Trixie. We also have 1 dog, Michael who loves his kitty cats.

:y_the_best: :y_the_best: Thanks for your help. Y'all are very quick and helpful. :y_the_best: :y_the_best:

[IMG] Lucky, she is VERY shy.
[IMG]Trixie, she is very shy too. She only likes certain people.
[IMG] This is Michael dog. He is a JAck Russel terrier and spoiled rotten.
[IMG] This is Even Rude. He purrs really loud and is very affectionate
[IMG] This is Sister Cleo, she just got fixed last week. She was the biggest Witch cat you would met. Now she is VERY VERY loving and sweet.

Those are the animals. Minus my sisters little mouse that all the cats want to snack on. Hope you enjoy, sorry for the poor quality the good camera is broken.
