please help!

    My 2 year old parakeet has recently developed spike like things on the top of his head. (they look like little porcupine quills, they are hard and pointy.)
    Does anyone know if this is normal? I would be grateful for any help.

    Hi this is perefctly normoal what is happening to your bird is its going through a molt where the bird loses its old feathers so new ones can come through.

    Dont worry there is nothing wrong with him..
