if the pet hair still isn't coming off the sofa... get two or three sofa covers... when they get full of hair change it and wash the dirty one!

 

where did you buy your dyson? I am really thinking of getting one if I can get a reasonable price. I think you bought the yellow one- do you know what the difference is between it and the purple?

 

I bought the Dyson off ebay. The yellow and puple are pretty much the same- motor and everything. The only difference are the attachments and obviously the colors. The purple has more attachments. I'll go hunt and see if I can track down the seller and some more info for you. BTW, the vacuum still works great. I will have many visitors coming over the next several days and the vacuum has helped me so much on cleaning up my carpets, bare floors, and sofas. I still need to do minor manual brushings on the sofas. Some furs get embedded too deep in the sofas to suck out with the vacuum. Just make sure you clean out the bristles after each use. The carpet fibers and hairs get trapped in it.

Make sure you purchase from a reputable seller. If purchasing off ebay, make sure the person has 100% feeback in long standing and that the item is new in box or sealed new in box and not refurbished.

 

what attachments come with the yellow? I found someone selling them on ebay sealed in the box for 278.00, it sounds like it is a company that is selling them but I will have to check into it a little more.

 

I forgot to ask how low does it go? Can you vacuum under tables without having to move them?

No problems vacuuming under tables but not good for edges and kitchen cabinets and under beds and benches. You would have to pull out your extentions for those. I'll post you a pic soon of all the attachments.

 

The hose can reach the top of my stairs so it's very handy. These attachments are more than sufficient for my needs.

 

I would definitely echo Vene's enthusiasm for the Dyson. I have a really old one (DC01) but it still works wonderfully well at picking up the cats hairs.

I just wanted to say as well that you can buy attachments separately if the Dyson you get doesn't come with the one you want.

anyways, you toddler i saw is ok now since the miraculous vaccum, but have u ever got that Febreeze stuff? the allergin reducer? i thought it might help to heh

After reading this post, I went on Ebay and bought the Yellow Dyson. Most amazing vacuum cleaner I've ever had. The first day I had it I first vacuumed with my old cleaner first then with the Dyson. I couldn't believe how much fur it picked up. It still amazes me when I empty the canister.

 

EternalFlame- thank you for the compliments. Now if only my furbabies would hold still for those Kodak moments. About Febreeze. I thought there was a controversy about pets dying from it. Hubby's friends' pets have supposedly died from its use. Now my toddler is allergic to dog saliva except for poodle's. Every time we go to Petsmart I have to avoid him meeting some very cute dogs which I'm itching to pet.

That thing about pets dying from febreeze and the swiffers was a hoax.

You guys have me sold on the Dyson! You should get some commission or something. It's one thing to read reviews from people you don't know, but another to get opinions from people I really know are being honest. Plus it is only about 100.00 more than the vacuum I was looking at getting. Vene, thanks for all the pics, I hope you didn't take them just for me.


p.s. I used to love Sailor Moon, it doesn't come on anymore here.

Sailor moon rocks! :0019: Even my son likes it. He usually watchs the Transformers and GI Joe, Justice league, spiderman and superman stuff. They have lots of cheap pirated copies on ebay.

The cat that I have that has hair, doesn't shed hardly, so it has not been an issue here. Sorry, I don't mean to giggle, I am sure it is a serious situation in some peoples homes. I never thought about that factor when I got my bald babies. I was just happy that they wouldn't be coughing up furballs!!!

Don't get me wrong, all of the kitties WITH hair on this site are beautiful as well.

I guess you could giggle back at me, at least you don't have to give three of your kitties baths weekly, clean their ears out two or more times a week, and clean their nails... right after you trim them....

Not only does Serena whine, she's a meatball head and a klutz but very pretty. Darion- ahhh, *sigh*! I like the episode where Luna has a kitty admire who saves her rear end a few times. It's hilarious where all the cats are in a huge chase. The mice chase is pretty funny too. Utena- never saw it. Is it a girl soldier story?
