Say a little prayer for Spunky

Some of you might remember when I posted pictures of my grandmothers cat, Spunky......
He had been unable to keep food down for a few days so she took him to the vet where they ran multiple tests over the last 3 days and found that he either has a blockage or cancer.
Several months ago he ate about 3ft of string that he chewed off one of his toys but because he is so obese sugery was not an option so the vet gave him a shot or something which caused the string to break up and come out in peices...now I'm wondering if all of the string did not come out and is causing the problem. They sent him home with some meds that are hopfully going to help pass whatever is blocking his intestines...if indeed it is a blockage. My grandmother is really upset especially since she just recently lost her other cat to CRF.
Please keep Spunky in your thoughts. :(

I'll put him in my prayers tonight.

:0014: cheer up hun... i'm sure everything will be ok.
Gotta watch out for cat toys like that.. little bells that can fall off, strings, anything can be accidentally swallowed and cause problems :(

He's in our thoughts here... good luck *hugz*

I'm so sorry about Spunky, Nern. I remember his pic and that he was on a diet. He's so cute. I sure hope he gets better soon. I'm sad for your grandma too, because I know how worried she must be. :(

My grandmother was at the vet today when I took the kitten. I guess Spunky was doing well for the last few days but then vomited up his food this morning. :(
They did a test last week where he had to swallow pellets to make sure he did'nt have a blockage and the pellets passed through. They did find a growth on his intestine or something and the vet was concerned about that. I hope its nothing serious. I will post an update if I hear anything else.

If it's not totally blocked there's still prolly hope... let's pray the growth is benign. [-o<

Are they going to do a biopsy of the growth? Maybe he has benign polyps causing discomfort. :0011: Sending lots of prayers and well wishes toward Spunky.

I sure he's going to be okay, Nern. At least he's getting good vet care and hopefully they can make him all better soon. Your poor grandma must be so worried. :( Is this her only kitty?

Yes, this is her only kitty. I guess they might do exploratory surgery...at least thats what my mother told me today.

Rowdy - that was so sweet. :D

Good news! Spunky pooped out what my grandmother thinks is the remainder of the string he ate a while back....so maybe that really was the problem after all. She put it in a baggie and brought it to the vet and Spunky has been beggin for food ever since and has'nt vomited.
Thanks for all your support. :D
