 Now that I have all these little guppies swimming around how do I clean the tank without sucking them up?

When I had baby guppies, I always just cleaned the tank like normal (siphon). They should be quick enough to get out of the way.

My babies just turned a week old and they were large enough to swim away from the vacuum. But just in case I kept the vacuum very low near the gravel and I did not move it very fast. I didn't suck up any babies this way. And just to be even safer I recommend keeping the water you siphon out in container where you can easily see if you did suck up any babies. Just check the container when you've finished before you pour out the water.

Also, if you're just wanting to change the water without vacuuming you could use a glass to scoop out water from the top and use the same glass to slowly add new water.

    Good luck!

    Cleaning the tank with babies.

:D You ask a geat question. My gupies just had babies a few days ago \:D/ . I hate to see a messy tank so I cleaned it today because it was yucky. For now I have my newborns in a net. I noticed that when I tried to catch the babies to put them in the breader they were super fast. So i think they will be ok when you clean your tank. I have always put my tube into a bucket so I could see if they were ever babies (I was wishing and waiting for they babies to be born). THIS IS MY FIRST TIME HAVING FISH BABIES :D . Anyways a bucket seems to be a great way to elevate any fish being tossed away.

I AM GOING TO KEEP PICTURES AND SMALL MOVIES OF MY GUPIES GROWTH EVERY FEW DAYS. SO I REFEER TO AND JUST TO HAVE (SENCE THIS IS MY FIRST BABY FISH EXPERECE). IT IS SOOOOOO FUN WATCHING THEM. THEY ARE SO TINY AND CUTE :D .

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BABIES. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW OLD THEY ARE AND HOW MUCH THEY HAVE GROWN.

    Have a great day!

i guess u could just clean the tank noramllly...well just do it relly slowly and make sure none of the get sucked up....well i put the end of the tube in like the cottony thing and if it gets sucked up ill be able to see it but pouring it into a bucket would be fine

my guppies just had like 35uplets!!! it was the first time it actualy had that many...the other times they had like 2 or four.....maybe theyve been eating them.....welll my dad put my guppies in my ponf outside with my shubunkin and well..the shubunkin are quite .....dumb? theyll eat anything then can..soo when i came back from camping, i immidiately ran into my backyard to chek if my guppies were all still there....and guess what i found?? 4 baby guppies! and soo i kept telling my dad to take the gupppies out of the ponf before they all get eaten but he said that they would be fine ... and well about a week ago my dad decided to bring the guppies in and gueess what? he could only fine 4 fish (including the adult male and female) :? ...well now i have this 45gal tank...i think... with only 4 guppies in it :!: my parents bought a few new plants and there was my leech problem...i also have about like 20 snails in my tank now...i thing it was from the new plants and well about a week from bringing them in from the pond, my fat female guppy had like 35 baby guppies!!! for the first time.. and well my sis woke me up at like 6 in the morning to tell me and well....i was just like :x for waking me up so early!! and well yeah..i dont knoe how i got into that subjuct...well now its all good :y_the_best:

Yeah! I can now proudly say that I have feeder guppy fry now too. I don't know how many I doubt that it is a lot (I hope I am wrong), but they finally had fry and that is all that matter.

I moved mine, i didnt wanna take the risk of sucking them up so i moved them into a tank dressed the same as the others, the fish where fine, no extra stress.

I have never had a problem using the tubing method. I did get a fry once, but I use a bucket and I put it back and all was fine. But the fry are very fast and they will swim away (they are used to trying to get away from being eaten). BUT I always keep my either in a seprate tqnk with only fry or in a breader in tell they are big enough. I just heard that my mom fish is a grandmother for the 4th time today (I AM SO EXCITED!!!). I can remember when she had her first batch of fry it was exciting and it still is. I can not wait to see how the grandbabies will turn out and I have 2 new fancy guppies that are ready to give birth soon.

    GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FRY!
