    Hello,

I am a worried mother, and I just got my baby spaded(?). And now she is home and having Diarrhea every 2 minutes. I don't know what to do? what is wrong with her? Do i need to take her to the vet again? I'm worried =(. Please let me know what's wrong with her.

She got pain meds, she looks like she's in a lot of pain though, she just lies there. She used to be really hyper. =( thanks for the help!

Hmmm... well, I would contact your vet on the phone to get their recommendation.

My girls were spayed last Wednesday, they never had any diarrhea (or vomiting) though. I know it seems like they'll never be themselves again (it's hard to see them just lay there, I know!), but trust me, they will.

The day after being spayed, Emma was already jumping and back to herself (still sore though, of course). Molly, however, took a little more time. She pretty much looked like a zombie for 2 days! Then, just three days after the surgery, on Saturday, she was back to herself!

Most puppies recover rather quickly, you'll be amazed. I'd still contact your vet, just for reassurance.

I'd definately give the vet a call.

Could the diarrehea be from stress caused by surgery?
I'll have my baby spayed in another month or so, and I'm nervous about it. :?
Keep us updated on how it's going...best wishes!!

I know I am a little late in responding, but I really hope you took her to the vet!!!!!!!

I'm not a professional, however, I do not believe that the excessive diarrhea in which you speak of is normal. You need to be really careful that she does not get dehydrated, and that her blood sugar levels do not drop.

Please consult a vet for further help and treatment for your pup! :y_the_best:

    Best wishes...I hope she's feeling better!!! :D

    Thank You

Thank you, Princess is back to normal now, although do dogs still hump stuff after they are spaded/neutered? Because I gave her back this huge toy of hers and she started to hump it again after 3 days of surgery. LOL, ewww...

Spaying or neutering usually decreases the frequency of (or ceases) the behavior...however, that's not always a guaranteed fact. So, what I am trying to say is, it's not out of the norm for a dog to continue the beahvior after the surgery, but in many cases it'll decrease or stop, it just depends on the dog.

It's nothing to worry about!!! :D
