Cleo...working on pickup arrangements now. She's in NH so shouldn't be a problem getting her. I decided to take her on even if she doesn't like cats....we'll work on it

She's very pretty, Mary. Hopefully all she needs is to get into a loving home to make her open up to other cats. Good luck!

Daniella - I used to foster moms and kittens, during kitten season, for my local shelter but it broke my heart to have these little families in my home for up to 6 weeks and have to return them to a cage. I would cry all the way home and vow to never ever do it again. The shelter would call me about a family needing to be out of the shelter until the kittens were old enough to be adopted and I'd start again. Couldn't say no to these little feline families and most of the time they'd be ill.

So I had to stop. I have 2 siamese cats of my own and I've been a participant of a board called Siamese Internet Cat Club for 7 years and I've met many people (in person) from that board. This Club is active with Siamese Rescue out of Virginia, also other rescues in CA, TX and Colorado. So I decided to start fostering for them as the siamese cat stays with the foster until they have a home of their own. Sometimes this can take months - but I've been lucky and the longest any of my fosters has waited to be offically adopted is three weeks. I give the cats all the credit - they like my "cutesty" writeups I do for the meezer. Either way - doesn't matter - what matters is these poor unwanted creatures go to great forever homes.

I love fostering. I have 3 cats and one geriatic dog and honestly cannot afford more pets of my own...but when I foster they pay the vet bills (I pay for food and litter) and for a little while I can pretend the cat is mine.

o wow thats great that u do that!! :y_the_best: i know what you mean though about crying and stuff. i get attached so darn easy also. i mean my kitten who just recently passed, we had him two months. and when we put him down i cried for days let me tell you i was a mess. i couldnt even function at certain moments i just missed him so MUCH it was like I had become his mother and i was so scared he would think i killed him cause i was the one who took him to be put down. Even when we got GiGi i was like " ROcky is gonna think i killed him and replaced him" my hubby was like " danielle rocky doesnt know you got another cat" but in my heart he is a little angel ya know!? UGH sometimes i wish my heart wasnt so big!! im telling you if i lived near you, id be helping you out lol

foster family last year I needed help....poor momma was a year old and was left FOR A MONTH in an apartment with her previous litter of EIGHT 6-month old kittens and her newborn litter of 5. I got her and the new litter - they were all so sick. it was awful. I nearly lost 2 kittens but when I spoke to the shelter vet tech one night she said "be prepared we all lose kittens" I said not on my watch. Pulled them through - took lots of support though. I got night feedings, my husband took evening feedings and a dear dear friend of mine who used to own a cat-only kennel came up during the day. Little buggers pulled through  I couldn't do it anymore though. I had to stop before I did lose a kitten and fall apart. I did have 5 kittens for siamese rescue but they were about a month old when I got them (no mom - shelter in Springfield, MA had put her to sleep for aggressiveness). I prefer adults...they are usually heartier

that is so awesome! well that you did all that for that litter. When rocky was near the end his poor little body so was limp and weak. plus the diahrea was just tearing him apart. his hole was pushed entirely out. the meds werent helping. he was soo raw that he would bleed and all the hair around his hole was gone. it was awful i used to cry so hard when he would come out of the box and have to go right back in. one of the last things i said to rocky was " no more pooping hunny, no more pain"
it still brings tears to my eyes. today was one week since he passed. i want him back  i would love to share pics with you all, how do i post them?
