Here's a pic of the boys enjoying the new lake at the dog park. See the story on the lake reconstruction in my earlier post. They wouldn't get out of the water and I don't blame them. What a way to spend a hot afternoon.

Looks like their lovin' it! I wish there was a dog park like that here. Rusty learned to swim this summer, and will swim right out if there's ducks or geese. But the water is pretty smelly in the lakes! He played in the saltwater on the sound this weekend, but he's a little nervous of the big waves----he's such a little runt, they about bowl him over! And....he unfortunately came home smelling like a dead crab! (for us anyway....I think HE thought he smelled good!)

Nala still smells slightly of skunk. Dead crab might be an improvement! :-&

DukesDad: Is your yellow dog a Lab?

I've had two labs (lost one in April), and they have always loved the water.
We have a natural creek that runs behind our house, and the black lab we lost in April (at 12 1/2 years of age)...would just go in and soak. I think it felt good on her arthritic hips. (water therapy?).
Her daughter, our yellow lab, likes it, but not as much. She loves retrieving sticks thrown in. Plus, ours always "bite" at the water when they're swimming....it's so funny.

    MollysMom,
Yes Duke is an AKC registered Lab. You might enjoy looking over a couple of websites I created. One for duke and another health related site I posted for my old black Lab that passed away in 2002.
    http://home.flash.net/~jdebess/index.htm
From there you can go to Duke's site.
