I need some help please..... I have a 4 month old kitten. He has started scratching a patch on his back so much so that the fur is gone and now there is a sore in the bald spot. I just took him to the vet 2 weeks ago and he got his rabies shot and was tested for feline lukiemia and aides. His vet is closed today and I am wanteing to clean it and possibly cover it to keep him from scratching it more until I can get him to the vet but I don't know what I can use that won't hurt him.

    Thanks so much

is there a lump at the injection site?

I know Benadryl is prescirbed for allergic reactions but being a kitten I wouldn't dare suggest it especially not knowing if the kitten has developed a sarcoma from the injection or if this is strictly a hot spot that has developed. Warm compresses or ice? I'd try one of those before giving any drugs. I'd try to keep him comfy until you can get in touch with the vet

Hi, No there doesn't seem to be a lump of any kind and I thought maybe round worm, but the skin is just as white as can be except for the raw spot that looks like there is a little yellow secretions.
