Iams cat food has ur cat died of it?

Hi im jess have ur cats suffered frm dehydration and died after eating iams?

We got our cat Kyrre about two months ago, and the first food we bought for him was Iams. Now we're on the second bag of food, but this time the pet shop was ot of iams, so we bought Hill's.

Kyrre drinks alot, but i dont think hes dehydrated. He just loves running water from the sink
The lady in the pet shop said that there wasn't much difference between Iams and Hill's.

What's your story? Did your cat die from dehydration?

 

I've never heard of a cat dieing from eating Iams but I have heard alot about some investigations at their labs.

Now...even if the first site may have exagerated some of their findings, the second site did say...

Some didn't meet humane standards?!? Even if some of the findings in the first site are correct that's enough for me not to buy their product.

 

I heard somewhere that Iams dry food has a high ash content. I don't use Iams, but give my cat some wet food every day. Usually one small serving at 6:00PM.

 

i used to buy the cheap cat food (wet and dry). like the 9 lives etc.. but recently my kitty simba got pretty sick so besides the treatment i was giving him the doc said i should try switching cat foods and suggested iams. since i have been using iams (maybe a month and a half now) i have seen a difference in my cats coats, they arent as hungery as much etc.. so i dont have anything really bad to say about it.. i plan on switiching them to another wet food brand but im still thinking about it-not to sure yet :-# .. but in the mean time iams wet food is doing well 4 me.. and my kitties drink alot of water soo....

 

when i first got Raz the woman was feeding him this nasty genaric stuff and he was severly dehydrated. now, i'm not entirely blaming the food. thats silly.

But i immediately switched him over to IAMS kitten and watched his water intake and am happy to say he's very healthy and happy now. His coat is very shiny and soft, and the vet said it was a good choice as well.

Which is good- i havent beacoup de bucks to buy the 'best' food out there anyways.

 

well...i may be just waaaaay off here...but it seems like we are getting alot of these kinds of posts...and the person posts one time...then we dont hear from them again.

hi sz didnt reply sooner well it seems like nt many people on here have the same problem but ye my cat did die of iams cat food and it got dehydrated from it so if u do give ur c\ats iams and there is some kinda problem with them alll u need to do is add it with some water because iams hasnt got water in but a sign of dehydration is the wee turns to crystal my cats did and also iams dose kill animals makin the food because they test it on animals k thanx for all the replys
